Dr. Gurries is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who focuses on surgeries for:

  • Removal of erupted and impacted teeth
  • Placement of dental implants
  • Immediate (same day) dental implants
  • Placement of zygomatic implants
  • Treatment planning and surgery for full arch restorations
  • Surgery for those requiring bone augmentation and grafting
  • IV sedation

He graduated from the University of Notre Dame Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. He challenged himself further by simultaneously earning a varsity letter on the football team as a walk-on wide receiver. He was awarded the Air Force Health Professions scholarship to attend dental school where he graduated with honors from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco.

After dental school he completed 4 rigorous years of surgery residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base, CA. During these years he also received training from Dr. Bedrossian in dental implants, zygomatic implants, full arch restorations, and implant complications.

Following residency, Dr. Gurries practiced a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery in Virginia while serving in the U.S. Air Force at Langley Air Force Base. After completing his active duty commitment years, he feels fortunate to return to the beauty and diverse community of San Francisco with his wife and their 3 children.

He joins Dr. Bedrossian at 450 Sutter Street to provide superior treatment in the field of oral surgery and dental implants and to provide patients with the coordinated care they deserve by working closely with colleagues in the Bay Area.

Dr. Gurries is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
